How did that saying go? Oh yeah…It’s like throwing an iPod down the toilet…

Yes, it happened. And judging by the fact that a Google search beginning with “dropped iPod in” gives “toilet” as the fourth option I’d say I’m not the only person this has happened to.

This morning I got dressed and put the iPod Touch in my jeans back pocket. Then I forgot about it. I went to the bathroom for number one, pulled down my jeans and as I was about to sit on the toilet I heard a disconcerting “blooop” coming from behind me. I looked in the loo and there it was. Needless to say I didn’t pee.

After it got disinfected with alcohol and hand sanitizer my iPod has spent the entire day (and will probably camp for the night) in a bowl of rice. D will take it apart and try to fix it, but I give it a 10% chance of survival. Bummer.

So what have we learnt today? This wouldn’t have happened if I had the ability to pee standing up.

  • Although I pee standing up (I’m male!) I always put my iPod Touch in the front pocket of my jeans or other pants. But it’s good to have read this so I will be even more careful. Thanks for sharing! 😀

  • Hope he can :(… Will the rice dry it better than just hot air? Happened to me once too… the phone was Ok after a few days, but the battery was deadand I never replaced it because it was cheap anyway… As for resistance, a colleague had his cellphone washed in the washing machine …and it still works like a charm! Comme quoi… Courage!
