This summer I’ve had the fortune to travel to two of the greatest cities in the world, Paris and NYC. So I’d like to start a new series on the blog, Paris vs New York where I share photographs of similar or opposing concepts and places.
La Coulée Verte (La Promenade Plantée) is a 4.5 km long park in the 12th arrondissement in Paris, built on an old railway. It’s made up of elevated gardens and tree-lined bike paths. It was so lovely seeing the wonderful building facades popping through the lush vegetation.
The High Line Park is a similar elevated park, only 1.6 km in length, built along the former West Side Line. Inspired by the Coulée Verte, it offers beautiful views of the lower West side – Chelsea and the Meatpacking District.
